Satellite TV in India

How has cross-border satellite TV revolutionized the media scenario in India?

In changing the media scenario in India, satellite TV has played pivotal role.
We can easily find the difference in media before the satellite TV and after its use.  In the territorial transmissions, cable wires were used and the channels, their effects were totally different.
Because of the satellite TV, we can now see international channels as well as private channels, also. The clarity, selection of the colours all these are more attractive in these channels than DD channels. In DD channels, there were time-limits of the telecasting. It is not there in any private Indian or international channels.
With the help of satellite TV, we can know other's culture. We can understand the cultural difference. We come to know about the influential factors of the particular culture.
The channels like Discovery, National Geography are wonderful channels. We get more and more knowledge from these channels.
For example,
some times ago, there was a rumor prevailing in India that because of the blast with the help of the machine Big-bang, there will be the end of the world or biggest earth-quake will happen at any place. At that time, the program about this was broadcasted in one of these channels. It cleared its aims, the whole process and the truth of it.
Besides this, the shows about any diseases do not only give information about the disease but also says about how to behave with the person who has such an incurable disease.
Animation series were started by satellite TV. Now the children get religious education by watching the animation series like 'Ghatotkachha', 'Chhota Bheem' etc... from the channels like CARTOON NETWORK, Pogo etc...
Just like how we get the international channels, our Indian channels are also telecasted in other countries. That's why our Indian culture is spreading day by day.
For example,
Baba Ramdev and the 'Yoga' are famous in other countries. That's why some foreigners come in India just to learn yoga.
Satellite TV   = Knowledge + entertainment

                                                'Every coin has two sides'
Just like this saying, there are some negative effects, also. Sometimes the people ignore to watch informative show of DD channels and prefer to watch entertainment show. Some people buy expensive and latest clothes even if they can't afford. They do it just in the influence by watching the channels of Fashion Show. Not only in this but in other foreign products also, people buy or imitate some thing without much consideration but there are more benefits of satellite TV rather than its disadvantages.
We can know world-view now very easily. So, we can say that the world is becoming smaller and smaller. That's why it reminds the term
'Global village'-> (given by) Marshal Mckehan - a media sociologist.

My Interpretation of 'The Old Man and the Sea'

My Interpretation of ‘The Old Man and the Sea’
Religion plays a major role in the novella. Santiago is a fisherman and so, he always goes to sea to fetch the fishes but sometimes he feels that he does sin by fishing. At the same time  , he also thinks that he is a born-fisherman. So, it is his ‘Karma’. So, he doesn’t give up. This shows his determined nature, too. Though he is old, he is very enthusiastic. Hemingway very artistically narrates this and shows the positive quality of an old man. In old man’s life, such a situation comes that 84 days he remains without catching a fish but in spite of it he is enthusiastic for fishing. One day he goes far-away in the sea and sees a marlin and decides to catch it and without eating and sleeping, he constantly waits for marlin and with full of his strength, he finally catches it which is more bigger than his skiff. It is his victory. No any fisherman has ever caught marlin, so for his pride and to prove himself, he catches it. Joe Di-Maggio was his model who was an excellent baseball player. He is Santiago’s inspiration. In the way, while he was returning by taking marlin, he faced the sharks who attacked on marlin but old man got victory because he came with marlin though head and carcass of marlin were only remained. At the home, because he was exhausted, he sleeps on the bad and he sleeps like a Jesus Christ. It is also symbolic.
Religion, morality, determined nature plays a great role in the novella.
